Chris G.J. Bisperink was born on March 8, 1962 in Borculo, The Netherlands. He studied Food Technology at the Wageningen Agricultural University in The Netherlands. In 1989 he graduated in dairy technology and food physics.
From March 1989 to May 1994 he was employed as a research worker at the Food Physics group at the Wageningen Agricultural University within the Eureka project BUFOM (EU267): "Sparkling wines and foaming beverages". One of the topics was a one and a half year study on the effect of spreading particles on the stability of thin liquid films. The results of this study were presented in a PhD-thesis that he successfully defended on May 27, 1997.
In August, 1994 he started as a scientist at the Nestlé Research Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland. During his working period at the Nestlé Research Centre he became head of the Food Structure group and as Product Area Co-ordinator he was responsible for the fundamental research at Nestlé on ice cream.
In April 2000 he changed to Campina B.V. in The Netherlands where he was appointed as head of the group Research and Analysis at DMV International. A few years later he took the position of R&D Manager Food Systems at DMV International.
In September 2008 he founded Foams.nl, a consultancy specialized on technological issues related to emulsions, dispersion, food structure and stability but specialized on foamed systems in the food and non-food industry.
